She Works Hard for the Money

My last few posts have been long. So, in an effort to embrace brevity (something I don’t do often enough), I thought I’d write a short post. Well, shorter at least.

Two years ago this fall, I became a self-employed woman. I left the world of full-time teaching to become a private tutor. I’ve never looked back, and I have loved it. The freedom, the flexibility—how glorious can working be, right? Most days, I praise God for the blessing that is my job. I actually get to do something I enjoy!  (Read more)

I have theories about reality television. In a World of My Own

If you know the right people, the world is yours. How do I know? Well, there are a whole lot of examples I could point to as evidence, but the most recent examples (and some of the best examples, I’d say) come from our most recent Disneyland excursion with friends. This year, ten of us braved the Magic Kingdom (and that other kingdom next to it—the one that’s not as cool, but still worth a look). We spent two days doing pretty much everything there is to do in both parks, and we left exhausted, but satisfied.  (Read more)
